Eastbourne Pier is a particularly fine Grade II* listed pier that was completed in 1872. It is over a 1000 feet long (300 M). It has a tea room, two bars, an amusement arcade, a nightclub, several refreshment kiosks and a restaurant.
Of particular interest is the Camera Obscura which is housed in a silvery dome near the end of the pier. Enjoy viewing the images of the original, 360 degree Victorian projector just as the Victorians did. Eastbourne Pier is the only pier in the world with an such an attraction.
As you stroll around the pier you have wonderful views towards the Beach Head and the Seven Sisters to the west, and Pevensey Bay and Bexhill beach to the east.
Always read and obey the safety signs on the pier and follow the beach safety advice of the RNLI on their website.
Access to Eastbourne Pier is free.
